Dona Karina began as a heartfelt initiative by Mildred Moreno, inspired by her mother Armina Tapia, the original Dona Karina. As the youngest of Armina’s daughters, Mildred brought this vision to life, establishing our personal chef dinner experience and catering services as a proudly authentic family-owned business. In 2005, Dona Karina made the life-changing journey from Guerrero, Mexico to the United States, leaving behind a piece of her heart and dreams. In 2007, her children – Ernesto, Edgar, Karina, and Mildred (fondly known as Mily) – reunited, blending their collective heritage and innovative spirits. Our recipes celebrate generations of tradition, meticulous flavor preservation, and culinary delicacy passed down through our family line. With over 20 years of expertise, Dona Karina mastered the art of prehispanic corn tamales, maize production, and mango and vegetable derivatives in Mexico. Her unique flavors are dearly missed by our hometown and surrounding communities, but we carry her legacy forward with pride. At Dona Karina, we strive to perfect every dish, whether rooted in Mexican tradition or inspired by global cuisines. From the freshest vegetables to humane meat practices, our culinary creations reflect our deep Hispanic heritage while embracing international influences. Cooking with love, passion, and creativity, we ensure each plate tells a story, suited for any occasion.
